What is a charging cable?

A charging cable is a cable that plugs into your electric vehicle and charges it quickly and safely.

There are two different types of charging cables, the two standards used are:

Type 1 (SAE J1772 (IEC Type 1)
The Type 1 is primarily suitable for one of the most popular electric vehicles Mitsubishi Outlander PEHV. In addition, there are some older Japanese cars that use type 1 charging cables, before the standard was changed to the newer type 2.

Type 2 (62196-2 (IEC Type 2))
Type 2 is the most common charging cable and fits most electric vehicles in Europe today. The standard is used by both European and Japanese vehicle manufacturers as well as the increasingly popular electric car manufacturer, Tesla.
